With multiple locations and project needs, RW has been serving Verizon and its facilities for many years, in many geographic areas including New York, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Massachusetts. We also provide services in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia.
Originally focused with Verizon's Construction Services Division, our role has greatly expanded to other divisions, including Team Energy and Portfolio, and other areas of responsibility such as properties, rebranding (signage changeover), insurance reports, etc.
RobsonWoese Inc has established a unique network of Verizon Regional Teams strategically located throughout the geographical area of our responsibility. Each Regional Team is comprised of a coordinator or point person, referred to as a "Program Manager", an HVAC engineer, an electrical engineer, and an architect. Also involved are various other sub-consultants as needed (i.e. structural). All teams operate within Verizon/RW guidelines for uniformity of approach, under the supervision and guidance of the RW Partner-In-Charge and Regional RW Program Managers.
The Program Manager is the main point of contact for the Verizon specialist's customer. The Program Manager is the initial contact and ensures the project scope is developed, as well as the project schedule and construction cost estimates. The Program Manager is also responsible to:
- distribute all project information (scope, goals and objectives, schedules, etc.) to the entire Regional Team
- work with the Team to make sure projects stay on track relative to scope, schedule, and budget
- interact with Verizon continually to make sure the project scope, schedule, and budget defined conforms with Verizon's scope, schedule, and funding
- meet regularly with the Verizon Team to discuss current and future projects, funding, and schedules
- interact with construction personnel to make sure the project scope and schedule are on track
- maintain support with all Verizon groups including Properties, Network, Power Engineering, Central Office, etc. and maintain the confidence with these groups that all Verizon goals and objectives are of the highest concern and priority to RW
Our involvement in the construction process includes issuing projects for bid, receiving bids, award, requisitions, and change orders. RobsonWoese Inc leads in a Design-Build role with Verizon, and works in parallel with a Construction Manager on larger projects.
Under this program, RW has completed thousands of projects for Verizon to the satisfaction, technical quality, and timeliness expected by Verizon and RobsonWoese Inc. Projects include:
- collocation designs
- dial-for-dial replacement installations
- emergency generators
- early warning fire detection systems
- indoor air quality studies central plant facilities
- underground storage tanks
- feasibility studies
- security plans
- boilers and boiler replacements
