Ellicott Complex Fire Alarm - Evaluation, Planning, Design
State University of NY at Buffalo
The University at Buffalo needed to upgrade an aging fire alarm and detection system at the Ellicott Complex of buildings at their North Campus. The Ellicot Complex is a multi-building residence, office, dining, and teaching facility that encompasses over one million square feet. The facility was constructed in the late 1960's and the fire alarm system consisted primarily of original equipment. A completely addressable system was designed with network communication capability to allow for the provisioning of a single "head end" monitoring station. The design was also carefully coordinated with a separate, concurrent project that added retrofit fire protection sprinklers to the facility. RobonWoese was able to complete this complicated design on a very aggressive schedule while working with DASNY and the University.
