Design/Construction

State University of New York (SUNY) at Albany
Alumni Quad

The Alumni Quad is a 400,000 sq. ft. dorm complex, some more than 50 years old, requiring replacement of failing, inefficient heating equipment. A condition study, load calculations, cost estimates, and recommendations for boiler and water heater replacement schemes was conducted and presented to the campus. This led to design/construction projects to replace boilers at the Waterbury Dormitory and the Sayles and Brubacher Dorms. Designs for these dormitories utilized modular gas-fired boilers for hot water heating and domestic hot water.
