Engineering
New facility, redesign existing space to accommodate new technology, or expand to meet the needs of a growing student population, RobsonWoese can help.
Today's schools are far more complex than simply bricks, mortar, glass and chalkboards; they require building systems that enhance student attention and comfort while being flexible enough to accommodate modern teaching methods. Cost effective solutions are required to meet budgets and program requirements while providing safety, accessibility, comfort, and flexibility needs for each space. RW's experience in the colleges and universities community is complemented with knowledgeable consultants and support staff specializing in program management, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, telecommunications, fire protection, and security systems engineering services. As your technical resource, the RW team works directly with campus officials to provide the needed solutions.
Case Study
World-Class Research Facility - Building Energy & Environmental Systems Laboratory (BEESL)
Syracuse University
When Syracuse University needed a world-class research facility, it turned to RobsonWoese to deliver a truly unique, sophisticated laboratory. BEESL is a key research laboratory associated with the New York Strategically Targeted Academic Research Center for Environmental Quality Systems and the New York Indoor Environmental Quality Center located in Syracuse, New York. RW provided the University with prime professional services, including engineering design and turnkey construction services. The successful design and construction of the BEESL project has enabled Syracuse University and the research community to advance the understanding of IEQ and energy utilization solutions. BEESL is the only facility of its kind in North America.
The BEESL project was the recipient of the Diamond Award for Engineering Excellence by the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC)/New York, and RW was recognized nationally by ACEC for our work on this project.
