RobsonWoese Inc was commissioned as engineering consultant
in the development of a five-year master plan for State
University of New York at Buffalo's two campuses. The
two campuses, North and South, encompass over 100 buildings
and 7 million square feet of facilities.
The purpose for this plan was to establish an orderly
basis for selection and implementation of future critical
maintenance and programmatic construction projects.
This study, commissioned by the State University Construction
Fund, addressed maintenance items through a review of
documents, visits to each building, and a discussion
of needs with campus personnel.
Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection
systems were evaluated. The report made systems upgrade
and critical maintenance recommendations. Cost estimates
for the recommendations were provided to our client.
Special systems include an underground chilled water
network on the North Campus. The South Campus houses
buildings (circa 1930's) of historical value with unique
systems and the Schools of Medicine and Dentistry.
