RobsonWoese Inc provided Verizon with project team leadership
to fast track a $2.3 million dollar Design / Build project
involving the installation of a 600-ton chiller and
infrastructure to supplement an existing high-rise building
chilled water system. Services included the following:
- Complete mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural and architectural systems design to integrate a new high performance chiller system with the existing chiller system to functionally and continually serve all mission critical equipment areas throughout Verizon's main Central Office located in Buffalo New York.

RobsonWoese Inc was responsible for the commissioning
process and making the final recommendations to the
Owner regarding functional performance of the commissioned
new systems. The functional testing program objectively
verified that the new system performed interactively
in accordance with the Project Documents. Written, repeatable
test procedures were prepared specifically for each
system module, and were used to functionally test components
and systems in all modes of operating conditions specified
for testing. These tests were documented to clearly
describe the individual systematic test procedures,
the expected systems response or acceptance criteria
for each procedure, and the actual response or findings.

RobsonWoese Inc's goal is to provide commissioning services that maintain high professional standards, and fulfill building owners' expectations. RobsonWoese provides commissioning services that are based on similar guidelines to those established by the United States Department of Energy and the Oregon Office of Energy by Portland Energy Conservation, Inc (PECI). The basic purpose of building commissioning is to provide documented confirmation that building systems function in compliance with criteria set forth in the Project Documents to satisfy the owner's operational needs. Our commissioning team of professional engineers with years of design and construction administration experience, coupled with HVAC contractors, temperature control engineers / technicians, and occupational health and safety professionals provide complete commissioning services from the start of the design process through to the final completed commissioning report.
Basic Commissioning Services include:
- Establishment of requirements for each party involved in the commissioning process.
