Fire Protection Designer
Syracuse
Responsible for the design of fire protection and suppression systems for commercial, institutional, and healthcare facilities. Duties include the recommendation of materials and equipment, such as structural component protection, fire detection equipment, alarm systems, fire extinguishing devices/systems and fire suppression systems. Also responsible for advising on the location, handling, installation, and maintenance of such devices/systems. Will perform computer based hydraulic calculations and use applicable office software, including AutoCAD 2006 and Revit. Will also be responsible for conducting site investigations to verify as-built conditions, conducting water supply tests, observing construction progress and developing punch lists, and observing final systems testing and acceptance. Qualified candidates must have an AAS degree or NICET Certification. Requires relevant experience designing fire detection and suppression systems along with a working knowledge of NFPA standards. Must have the ability to analyze computer-based hydraulic calculations.
